Frequently asked questions

Does Rentapa own any machines?

No. We work with hire companies across the UK. We receive your request, check it with you and offer it to hire companies that work near your site. One local company takes the request and contacts you directly.

How much does Rentapa cost?

Nothing. The service is free for people hiring. Hire companies pay Rentapa for access to requests. The price and terms of the hire are agreed directly between you and the hire company.

Am I committed when I send a request?

No. Sending a request does not commit you to anything. You only hire if you reach an agreement with the hire company that contacts you.

Who do you send my request to?

The request is offered to hire companies in our network that work in the area of your site and with the type of equipment you asked for, without your name or contact details. Your contact details go only to the one company that takes the request. Any notes you left, such as narrow access or delivery times, go with the request.

When will I be contacted?

It depends on the hire companies in your area. Once we have checked your request with you, we offer it to local companies and the company that takes it contacts you directly by phone or email. We cannot guarantee that a company will have the equipment available on your dates.

Will Rentapa contact me?

Yes, once, after you send the request, to confirm the details and that you really want to hire. Only then do we offer the request to hire companies. From then on you deal directly with the hire company that takes it.

Can I request several machines and attachments at once?

Yes. Add all the machines to your request, each with its own size, attachments, options, dates and notes.

Do I need to be a business to hire?

No. Private customers can hire too. Some machines need a trained, competent operator; in that case you can ask for the machine with an operator.

Does Rentapa have its own depots?

No. Rentapa is an online service. We work with hire companies around the UK to find an option near your site.

How many hours a day can I use the machine?

A day rate is often based on a working day of about 8 hours, but it depends on the company. Check the hours included and the cost of extra hours directly with the hire company.

How do I extend the hire?

Contact the hire company you agreed the hire with. They manage the hire, delivery, collection and breakdowns.

Can I collect and transport the machine myself?

Yes, if you have a suitable trailer or vehicle and the right driving licence for the weight. Choose “I’ll collect” in the request and we look for a company near you that offers collection.
